Vernon Township has two Volunteer Fire Departments.  Vernon Central Hose Company and Vernon Township Fire Department.   These departments consist of local men and women who volunteer their time to learning life saving/fire fighting skills.   They rely on public donations and memberships in order to run these departments.  It is good to know that in this day and age, there are still people in the world who are willing to make the time to help save lives.

Burning Ordinance : A burn permit must be obtained from your local Fire Code Enforcement Officer if you will be doing any type of open burning.
