VERNON TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS

Regular Monthly Meeting

July 10, 2018

The regular meeting of the Vernon Township Supervisors was held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 7:30 P.M. at the Vernon Township Municipal Building, 16678 McMath Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.

MEMBERS PRESENT:     

Donald Maloney, Chairman

Fritz Snyder, Vice-Chairman

JJ Baiera, Supervisor

Greg Smith, Supervisor

Supervisors Gary Wagner was absent, therefore did not vote on any motion.

No citizen comments were offered at this time.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

On a MOTION by JJ Baiera, a SECOND by Greg Smith, all the board voting in favor, the minutes of the June 7, 2018 Regular Meeting was approved.

FINANCES

On a MOTION by Fritz Snyder, a SECOND by Greg Smith, all the board voting in favor, the treasurer was directed to issue checks for the vouchers due for payment.

On a MOTION by Fritz Snyder, a SECOND by JJ Baiera, all the board voting in favor, the payroll for the employees from May 27, 2018 thru July 7, 2018 and the Supervisor’s pay was ratified.

CORRESPONDENCE

No correspondence was received at this time.

POLICE REPORT

Randy Detzel, Chief, presented the June Police Report.

On a MOTION by Greg Smith, a SECOND by JJ Baiera, all the board voting in favor, Dominic Knapp is hired as a full time police office with a starting pay of $23.24.

ROAD REPORT

Robert Horvat, Manager, present the July Road Report in Ludwig Zarembinski absence.

ADMINISTRATION/ZONING

Robert Horvat, Manager, presented the July Administration/Zoning Report.

On a MOTION by Fritz Snyder, a SECOND by JJ Baiera, all the board voting in favor, Wilson Enterprises Subdivision was approved.

ENGINEERS REPORT

Ashley Porter, Engineer

SOLICITOR’S REPORT

R Charles Thomas, Solicitor

On a MOTION by JJ Baiera, a SECOND by Greg Smith, all the board voting in favor, R Charles Thomas is to prepare an Amendment to Chapter 13 Part 2 Soliciting and Peddling of the Vernon Township Codified Ordinances.

NEW BUSINESS

On a MOTION by Fritz Snyder, a SECOND by JJ Baiera, all the board voting in favor, the CDBG Proposed Use Hearing is to be advertised for August 1, 2018 at 7:20 PM.

OLD BUSINESS

On a MOTION by Fritz Snyder, a SECOND by Greg Smith, all the board voting in favor, Resolution 2018-09 Transfer of Liquor License R-17130 to Vernon Township for Sheetz, Inc. was approved.

On a MOTION by Fritz Snyder, a SECOND by Greg Smith, all the board voting in favor, the sale of the 2009 Ford Explorer to Robert Grasso for $2,167.00 was approved.

As there were no further comments or business, on a MOTIONby Greg Smith, a SECOND by JJ Baiera, all the board voting in favor, the meeting adjourned at 7:49 P.M.
